Kimmeridge Ledges, October '03


For about 3 miles between Kimmeridge Bay and Egmont Bight on the Dorset coast the tidal foreshore is accessible for a few hours before and after low tide. Continuous, friable cliffs prevent escape to the Coast path above. At low tide the there are extensive flat ledges with varied geology, the haunt of fossil-hunters and an interesting walk for photographers:
